$16 Million Waterfront Development Plan for Powell River

An open house was held recently featuring plans about the proposed $16 million waterfront projects in Powell River, located a one hour ferry ride from Comox on Vancouver Island. Information about the $6.04 million South Harbour upgrade and reconfiguration, the $3.3 million Wharf at Westview development and the $6.5 million North Harbour upgrade were all discussed. The City of Powell River is in the design stage of a multi million dollar Waterfront Development plan to improve the Wharf at Westview. The project will involve developing the north and south harbours which will feature a new boardwalk, spaces for commercial development, lighting, new railing and seating for pedestrians. The City has awarded the contract for the detailed design to Wedler Engineering.
