Vancouver Island Real Estate Board Announces REALTOR® Awards Recipients

 At a Gala Celebration held on February 25, 2010 the Vancouver Island Real Estate Board (VIREB) announced its 2009 REALTORS® Care and REALTOR® of the Year recipients.

 These awards are among the highest honour VIREB can bestow on its members. They are presented to individuals whose dedication to excellence has had a profound influence on the professional image of Vancouver Island REALTORS® as well as on the quality of life in the communities they serve.

 John Tillie, Re/MAX of Duncan, has been named VIREB’s 2009 REALTOR® of the Year. Tillie was chosen as REALTOR® of the Year for his significant contributions to the real estate profession. He served on VIREB’s Board of Directors from 1999 – 2002 holding numerous portfolios and was its 2001 President. He has been on the Board of Directors of the British Columbia Real Estate Association since 2002 and was elected as its President in 2009.

 The REALTORS® Care Awards were presented to REALTORS® within each of the six geographical zones within the VIREB region from the Malahat to the North Island, for their personal leadership and service to their communities.

 This year’s winners were;

Rick Gibson of Royal LePage in the Comox Valley

Jan Christenson of Royal LePage in Ladysmith

Glynis Hayes of Coast Realty Nanaimo

Dan Jack of Sutton Group – Whitecap Realty in Parksville

Frances Kimura of Sutton Group – West Coast Realty in Port Alberni.
