North Island Transition Society to Construct New Supportive Housing Apartment on Vancouver Island
City of Campbell River Approves Development Permit

The North Island Transition Society in Campbell River on Vancouver Island will receive a government grant for $6 million to construct a new supportive housing apartment. The development permit has already been approved by the City of Campbell River.
The three storey 24 single bedroom family residences are being constructed for homeless women and their families. This new Vancouver Island development will be located at the bottom of Dogwood Street in Campbell River.
The building will operate with ancillary counselling and support services. The City of Campbell River has agreed to waive permit costs for the facility and has offered a property on Dogwood Street in Campbell River to the Society.
Construction for this new Vancouver Island project is expected to be completed by fall of 2011.
