On Friday, June 25th, Vancouver Island’s Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa had its grand opening which was a huge success.
The Vancouver Island event kicked off with a champagne sabring by Atilla Cimsit who is Pacific Shores Resort & Spa’s Sommelier and Director of Food and Beverage.
Visitors and guests sipped on wine and enjoyed delicious appetizers and beverages from Victoria’s local businesses such as The Landing West Coast Grill, Truffles Catering and Caffe Fantastico.
In the Rockland lobby of Parkside Victoria Resort & Spa, visitors and guests checked out The Green Zone which featured great eco-conscious business such as Refuse and Ecoeverything.
A live band also played in the Atrium as guests and visitors relaxed, took green building tours or strolled through the Vancouver Island resort.
Prior to the 5 pm Gala event in Victoria, the ribbon-cutting ceremony took place in the Atrium. The ribbon was cut by Andrew Pearson, President of Aviawest Resort Group; Richard Hulbert, Chairman of International Architecture and Planning Practice The Hulbert Group; Gordon Gurnick, President of RCI North America, Alan Lowe, former Victoria mayor; and David Anderson, former Environment Minister and current member of parliament.
