City of Courtenay Receives Rezoning Application for New Vancouver Island Subdivision

Public Hearing to be Held in Late August or September

An application was submitted for a rezoning application to the City of Courtenay for a new subdivision on Powerhouse Road on Vancouver Island.

The design for a new low density subdivision in the Comox Valley embodies 69 Vancouver Island homes on 7.7 hectares. The new subdivision in Courtenay on Vancouver Island will blend 50% green-space to protect the natural environment and the wetlands.

This new Vancouver Island project will be built in four stages and Phase I will include 17 Comox Valley building lots. This new Courtenay rezoning application has been sent out for formal referrals and it is expected to be back to council for consideration of first and second readings in late summer. A public hearing is expected to be held in late August or in September.
