High Density, Sustainable Community for Longlands Development Project

Island Coastal Ventures Ltd. withdraws Application from Comox Valley Regional District

Island Coastal Ventures Ltd., owners of the 75-acre Longlands Development Project in the ComoxValley on Vancouver Island, have withdrawn their application from the Comox Valley Regional District. They will be applying for annexation into either Comox or Courtenay to move forward with their vision for a high density, sustainable Vancouver Island community.

Longlands is a candidate for annexation, as it is located next to the boundary of an existing municipality and within one of the Regional Growth Strategy’s designated settlement expansion areas. The original Comox Valley development was designed to include approximately 900 Vancouver Island residential units, office and retail space, as well as a local farm market and a community plaza. Talks are ongoing with the owners and the municipalities of Comox and Courtenay.
